(SPSB) is proud to announce a significant milestone with the official transition of the management and operations of Sapangar Bay Container Port (SBCP) to DP World, a global leader in smart, end-to-end supply chain logistics. This transformative collaboration, executed through a joint venture company, DP World Sabah Sdn. Bhd., represents a major leap forward in Sabah’s maritime and logistics landscape and marks DP World’s inaugural venture into the Malaysian market.

Together, SPSB and DP World aim to develop SBCP into a premier trade hub, focusing on the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA). The partnership will enhance SBCP’s connectivity, efficiency, and  terminal capacity by leveraging on DP World’s global expertise. accelerating its transformation into a premier regional and global trade hub.

In this joint venture, SPSB remains a fully-owned subsidiary of Suria Capital Holdings Berhad and continues as the concessionaire of SBCP. The partnership with DP World is focused exclusively on SBCP, with both parties committed to driving Sabah’s economy forward by building port and logistics capacity, enhancing the region’s connectivity and trade potential.

DP World, headquartered in Dubai, has operations in more than 70 countries and is renowned for its role in establishing Dubai as a global trade hub through the development of Jebel Ali Port and Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA).
